Obverse description Stylized facing bust of King Wamba in the center of the field, rendered in the schematic Visigothic manner with angular facial features and a prominent diadem or crown indicated above. The bust is surrounded by a circular beaded border. The Latin legend reads + I N D · I N · M VVAMBA P, distributed around the periphery, with a small cross pattée visible at the top of the legend. Star-shaped ornaments punctuate the lower field flanking the bust, a characteristic decorative device of late Visigothic coinage.
