Obverse description Facing bust of King Suinthila in highly stylized late antique manner, rendered with large globular eyes, a prominent nose, and pendilia or ear ornaments flanking the face. Below the bust appears a schematized crosshatched breastplate or corselet. The effigy is set within a circular legend in Latin capital letters. The overall style reflects the degenerate Byzantine prototype typical of late Visigothic coinage.
