| Obverse description | Facing bust of King Sisenand in the centre of the field, rendered in the stylised Visigothic manner with beaded diadem and draped shoulders. Flanking the bust are cross pattée symbols in the upper field, with pellets and triangular decorative elements surrounding the effigy. The circular Latin legend + SISENANDVS RE runs around the periphery, separated from the central motif by the characteristic angular letterforms of late Visigothic coinage. |
