Obverse description Schematized front-facing royal bust depicted in the highly stylized Visigothic manner, with a rounded arch-shaped head rendered in low relief at center. Below the bust appears a cross-like or monogram motif. The surrounding field is filled with a circular legend in debased Latin capitals. The design reflects the characteristic late Visigothic workshop style, in which figurative elements have become increasingly abstract and formulaic.

Reverse description Schematized front-facing bust at center, rendered in the characteristically abstract Visigothic style with a beaded or serrated oval outline framing the head, and a monogram or cross motif below. The field surrounding the central device is populated with a circular Latin legend in debased letterforms interspersed with pellets and ornamental elements. The overall design echoes the Byzantine tremissis prototype but is thoroughly transformed by local workshop conventions of the mint of Barbi.
