Obverse description Stylized frontal bust of King Sisenand within a beaded oval border (mandorla-like frame), depicted in highly schematic Visigothic manner with crossed garment folds indicated across the chest. The field surrounding the central bust is filled with multiple pellets and star-shaped or triangular ornaments arranged irregularly, characteristic of late Visigothic coinage. The Latin legend SISINADVSN runs around the periphery, partially obscured by the irregular flan. The overall style reflects the progressive abstraction typical of seventh-century Visigothic tremisses.
