| Obverse description | Highly stylized facing bust of King Sisebut occupying the central field, rendered in the debased late antique manner characteristic of Visigothic coinage. The effigy, depicted frontally within a beaded or serrated inner border, displays a schematic diademed head with rudimentary facial features. Surrounding the central device is a circumferential Latin legend reading +SISEBVTVS RI, separated from the bust by a dotted or toothed inner circle. The outer rim is defined by a serrated or pellet border typical of hammered Visigothic tremisses. |
