| Obverse description | Facing or three-quarter bust of King Sigebert III rendered in the debased late antique style typical of Merovingian gold coinage, the figure draped and depicted with schematic facial features characteristic of seventh-century Frankish die-cutting. The portrait is crudely executed but retains the imperial bust tradition inherited from late Roman tremisses. The surrounding legend reads SEGOBERTVS R, identifying the issuer as King Sigebert. The flan is irregular and slightly ragged at the edges, consistent with hand-hammered production at a provincial Merovingian mint. |

| Reverse description | Central field bears a cross pattée or plain cross on steps, a design derived directly from Byzantine and late Roman tremissis prototypes, rendered in a simplified and somewhat irregular manner consistent with Merovingian provincial workmanship. The cross occupies the centre of the flan, flanked by the mint abbreviation letters. A beaded border encircles the entire design, partially visible around the irregular flan edge. The reverse legend MA refers to Massilia (Marseille), identifying the issuing mint. The overall style reflects the artistic conventions of seventh-century southern Frankish gold coinage. |
