Recceswinth ruled the Visigothic Kingdom for over two decades, a reign notable for the promulgation of the Liber Iudiciorum in 654 — the law code that abolished the long-standing separation between Roman and Gothic legal traditions and applied a single body of law to all subjects regardless of ethnic origin. Tarraco by this period had long passed its imperial peak, but retained enough administrative weight to operate a mint.
Pliego 576 places this issue within a well-documented sequence, though die-link studies have shown considerable variation across the Tarraco output of Recceswinth's reign.
