| Obverse description | Facing or slightly right-turned stylized royal bust in the central field, rendered in the debased late Visigothic manner with schematic facial features and a beaded or pellet eye. A Latin cross appears to the right of the effigy within the field. The portrait is encircled by a beaded border. The surrounding legend reads the king's name in retrograde or partially garbled Latin capitals, characteristic of late Visigothic mint engraving. |
