| Obverse description | Stylized facing or three-quarter bust of King Egica, rendered in the debased late Visigothic manner with schematic drapery indicated by hatched lines across the chest. A cross pattée appears above the royal effigy, serving as a central compositional element. The surrounding legend is disposed in retrograde or irregular Latin characters around the periphery of the field. The entire design is enclosed within a beaded border typical of Visigothic tremisses of the late seventh century. |
