| Obverse description | Stylized draped bust facing right in the debased late antique tradition, rendered in low relief with schematic facial features characteristic of Merovingian coinage. The hair is indicated by parallel lines swept back from the face, and a pellet is visible in the field before the portrait. A partial circumferential legend surrounds the effigy, with letter forms showing the degradation typical of mid-seventh-century Frankish monetary production. |
