Obverse description Right-facing bust of Emperor Arcadius, pearl-diademed, draped and cuirassed, rendered in the refined late antique style characteristic of Constantinopolitan gold coinage. The emperor is depicted with carefully delineated hair swept back and secured by a prominent pearl diadem, with individual pearl beads clearly defined along the headband. The cuirass is visible at the shoulder, with drapery folded over the left arm. The encircling Latin legend is divided by the bust, reading D N ARCADI-VS P F AVG.
