Obverse description A detailed relief view of the Château du Clos Lucé, the late 15th-century manor house in Amboise where Leonardo da Vinci spent his final years (1516–1519), depicted with its characteristic multi-gabled roofline and gothic architectural details. The dates 1516 and 1519 appear in the lower field within the inner circle. The surrounding legend reads 'LE CLOS LUCÉ' at the top and 'Demeure de Léonard de Vinci' along the bottom, separated by a border of small circular dots.
