| Reverse description | Central field features a large cross of the Order of Christ (Cruz de Cristo) in high relief, its expanded arms terminating within a raised inner circle, with a quatrefoil ornament occupying each of the four quadrants between the arms of the cross. A small pellet marks the centre of the cross. The peripheral legend IN HOC SIGNO VINCES — 'In this sign thou shalt conquer' — encircles the design in Gothic lettering separated by a cross pattée at the beginning, all consistent with the devotional iconography of the Manueline period. |
