Reverse description Central field features a plain cross pattée, its arms extending nearly to an inner beaded circle, dividing the field into four quarters. The cross is rendered in a simple, bold medieval style typical of Iberian tornês coinage. A broad circular Latin legend occupies the outer field between two beaded borders, containing a devotional inscription drawn from Psalm 117 (118). The flan is irregular in outline, as expected of hammered medieval coinage. The mint mark for Porto may appear within the legend.
