Reverse description The reverse field presents a similarly dense nastaliq inscription in two registers divided by a raised horizontal line, identifying the mint and date of issue. The upper portion of the field carries the mint formula 'Zarb Dar al-Safa Khoy' (struck in the abode of purity, Khoy), rendered in bold, deeply cut calligraphy embellished with pellet clusters and delicate floral vine motifs in the surrounding field. The AH date 1244, corresponding to 1828 CE, is inscribed in the lower exergual area in clear Eastern Arabic numerals. A beaded inner border partially encircles the design on the reverse, and the irregular flan edge reflects hand-hammered production at the Khoy provincial mint. The artistic treatment is consistent with Qajar-period provincial gold coinage under Fath-Ali Shah.
