Obverse description An eagle in flight dominates the field, its wings spread wide, grasping in its talons a key and what appears to be a heraldic shield bearing a cross. In the lower right, a detailed relief of St. Peter's Cathedral in Geneva is depicted, with its distinctive spire and Romanesque architecture. The engraver's name DIAKONOFF, the fineness mark 900, and the maker's initials HF (Huguenin Frères) appear in the lower field.

Reverse description Two crossed papal keys of Saint Peter rendered in high relief against a background of a rusticated stone wall, with the bows of the keys forming decorative elements in the lower corners of the field.
