Obverse description Central device features the crowned quartered coat of arms of Philip IV of Spain, encircled by the collar of the Order of the Golden Fleece. A circular Latin legend runs around the periphery giving the king's titles. The piece has a suspension hole pierced at the top.

Reverse description Central field displays a quartered shield or orb device flanked by military trophies — crossed cannon, lances, flags, and other weapons — arranged symmetrically on either side. Above, rays emanate downward from the Holy Cross set in the sky, with the inner motto arcing beneath it. The date 1632 appears in the lower exergue divided by the mint mark, and the outer legend runs within a beaded circle. A suspension hole is pierced at the top.
