| Obverse description | Against a dark polished field, the obverse depicts a panoramic view of Leningrad's landmarks in relief, including St. Isaac's Cathedral in the centre, the Bronze Horseman monument to the left, and a neoclassical building to the right, with the cruiser Aurora in the foreground. In the upper field, four Soviet decorations — including the Order of Lenin and the Gold Star medal — are arranged around a five-pointed star, while a laurel and olive wreath with a hammer-and-sickle device frames the lower portion. The curved legend ЛЕНИНГРАД ГОРОД ГЕРОЙ runs along the upper rim. |
