Obverse description An allegorical female figure in high relief strides dynamically across the field, raising a caduceus aloft in her right hand and draped in flowing robes. Behind her, the Antwerp harbor with ships and cranes is depicted in low relief to the left, while monumental exhibition buildings appear to the right. The engraver's signature A. MACHAUX is visible in the lower right field, and a bearded mask or figure emerges at her feet.

Reverse description The crowned coat of arms of Antwerp is displayed prominently in the upper center of the field, flanked by large laurel and oak branches that frame the entire composition. The date 1894 appears to the right of the shield, and a second smaller shield is depicted in the lower left. The multi-line legend occupies the central lower field.
