Obverse description The theme of San Marino`s first commemorative euro is `Welcome Euro`. The designer Uliana Pernazza has depicted this theme in an original and symbolic way on the coin. Twelve roses are depicted, symbolizing the original 12 countries of Europe. The text `Benvenuto Euro` completes the design. On the obverse of the coin, in addition to the indication of the issuing country, also the three towers that are also in the coat of arms of the coin. These represent the three citadels (La Guaita, La Cesta and La Montale) of San Marino. The feathers pictured above are ostrich feathers. The gilded issue then shows the parliament building in the center. The Basilica del Santo, which means Basilica of the Holy, is also beautifully displayed. Furthermore, the coat of arms and the statue of liberty are beautifully depicted.
