| Obverse description | Central shield bearing the arms of Le Havre — divided with fleurs-de-lis in chief and a lion passant in base — surmounted by a mural crown and flanked by two sea-serpents as supporters, all resting on a large anchor. A banner across the base of the shield bears the motto UT RISCO ET EXTINGUO. Above the composition, a ship's yard or capstan bar appears in the upper field. The circumferential legend runs along all eight sides of the octagonal flan. |
