Obverse description Central field displays the coat of arms of Bayonne: a fortified tower flanked by two rampant lions, surmounted by a fleur-de-lis and topped by a mural crown. Two scrolling ribbons bearing the motto extend to either side of the shield. The engraver's name NUMA LOUVET F. appears in the lower exergue.
