Obverse description Replica of the reverse of a French teston of Henry II, struck at Troyes in 1553. The central device displays the royal arms of France — a shield semé of fleurs-de-lis surmounted by a large crown — flanked by two smaller crowns above the mint marks H and S. The circular legend reads CAFES LEGAL / FRANCE / TESTON DE TROYES / 1553 within a beaded border, with the lower portion of the legend inverted in the die.
