Obverse description Irregular cob-style flan imitating a Spanish colonial piece of eight, with a bold cross dividing the field into four quadrants. Two quadrants display a castle device and two display a lion passant in relief, replicating the characteristic design of Spanish macuquina (cob) coinage of circa 1620.
