| Reverse description | The heraldic shield of the City of Gloucester is prominently displayed in the centre of the field, charged with a chevron between three roundels arranged in the traditional Gloucester civic arms pattern, and surmounted by a royal crown. The shield is flanked on either side by laurel branches, their stems crossing at the base, forming a wreath-like frame around the armorial device. The arc legend FOR. XII. PENCE. curves along the upper periphery, stating the token's redemption value. A reeded border frames the entire reverse design. |
