Obverse description Central field occupied by a multi-line Arabic legend in bold Naskh-Nastaliq script, giving the ruler's name and titles, with the Hijri date ١٢١٨ (1218 AH) inscribed in the lower portion of the field. Decorative dot clusters punctuate the lettering throughout the central area. The legend is enclosed within a plain inner circle, itself surrounded by a continuous wreath of stylised olive or laurel branches rendered in low relief, consistent with Bukharan hammered gold coinage of the Manghit dynasty. The flan is irregular in shape, as is characteristic of hand-struck issues of the period.
