| Obverse description | Central field occupied by the name and titles of 'Abd al-Rahman rendered in flowing Nasta'liq-style Arabic calligraphy, densely arranged across the flan. The regnal year (RY date) appears to the lower right of the inscription. The coin exhibits the irregular, hand-struck fabric typical of hammered Afghan gold coinage of the early nineteenth century, with a plain dotted border visible along portions of the rim. |
