Obverse description The German Michel, a folk personification figure wearing a nightcap, strides forcefully through a field of swirling branches and tendrils while hoisting an oversized book or ledger above his head. The date legend '5. JULI 1920' appears in relief within the field to the right. The partial legend 'SPA' is visible at the upper left rim.

Reverse description A densely composed allegorical scene depicting the reparations agenda of the Spa Conference: in the upper field a Zeppelin airship flies beneath a watchful eye motif, flanked by the legend 'TAGESORDNUNG' along the rim. Below, massed troops with a mounted officer and a flag are shown alongside industrial scaffolding and mining structures marked 'K.G'. In the lower register, Allied officials in characteristic hats consult a document beside stacked cylinders and piles of coal, with the word 'KOHLE' inscribed on a block at the base. A steamer vessel is depicted in the middle ground.
