The effigy is boldly struck with strong portraiture detail. The circumferential Latin legend reads around the upper and lower periphery, separated by dots.

Reverse description Quartered heraldic shield of Anhalt-Bernburg surmounted by a princely crown, displaying the multiple dynastic arms of the ruling house including the Anhalt bear, Saxon barry, eagle, and other territorial quarterings. The fraction denomination 1/3 appears within a circle at the base of the shield. The mintmaster's initials appear to the left of the shield in the field. The circumferential legend references the Leipzig monetary standard and the date.
