Obverse description Central shield bearing the rampant lion of Brunswick, crowned with an ornate royal crown above. The date 1675 appears in the lower field flanking an oval cartouche bearing the fraction 2/3, indicating the denomination. Mintmaster initials B·I and H are positioned to either side of the shield. The circular Latin legend MONETA BRUNSV: reads around the periphery, with fine milled denticles bordering the edge.

Reverse description Bareheaded, cuirassed bust of Rudolf August, Duke of Brunswick-Lüneburg, facing right, with long flowing curly hair falling to the shoulder and armour decorated with studded pauldrons and a lace cravat visible at the throat. The portrait is rendered in high relief in a bold Baroque style filling much of the field. The surrounding Latin legend reads RUD:AUG:D·G·DUX·B·E·LUNEB:, identifying the ruler by name and title, with fine milled denticles bordering the rim.
