Obverse description Central design depicts the rampant Brunswick lion passant guardant, facing left, set within an ornate arched gateway flanked by two crenellated towers, all resting upon a masonry base representing the city fortifications. The mintmaster's initials G and B appear at the base of the respective towers. The fraction 2/3 is displayed in a cartouche at the lower centre, flanked by the date 1675. A partial Latin legend reading MONETA BRVNSV curves along the upper periphery of the coin.
