| Obverse description | Saint Leodegar (Leger), patron saint of Lucerne, depicted seated in three-quarter view facing left, vested in full episcopal regalia including mitre and cope, his right hand raised in benediction and his left hand holding a crozier. A radiate nimbus surrounds his head, and a putto is positioned at his feet in the lower field. The engraver's initials 'IH' appear at lower right. The legend SANCTVS LEODEGARIUS arcs along the left and right periphery respectively, separated by decorative stars at the base. |
