| Obverse description | Central field occupied by a large nine-part quartered coat of arms of Brunswick-Wolfenbüttel, divided into three rows of three compartments, each bearing the distinctive heraldic charges of the constituent territories, including rampant lions, eagles, and barry fields. The shield is surmounted by two ducal crowns. The date 1699 is divided to either side of the shield in the middle field. A circular Latin legend runs along the periphery, referencing the joint rule of Dukes Rudolph August and Anthony Ulrich of Brunswick and Lüneburg. The rim is bordered by a fine inner beaded circle. |
