| Reverse description | Double-headed Imperial eagle displayed with wings spread, bearing on its breast a composite quartered shield incorporating the Árpád dynastic stripes of Hungary, the Hungarian double cross, the Dalmatian leopard heads, and the Bohemian lion; an inescutcheon on the breast displays the Austrian fess. The mint mark appears at either side of the eagle's feet. Above the eagle's necks, a crowned Madonna standing on a crescent moon holds the Christ Child in her right arm and a scepter in her left, within a radiate nimbus. The reverse legend, interrupted by the date and mint mark, records the emperor's hereditary territorial titles. |
