Obverse description Armored and draped bust of Johann Wilhelm facing left, wearing a flowing long wig with elaborate curls, enclosed within a beaded inner circle. The effigy is rendered in high relief with fine detail on the armor breastplate and drapery folds. The surrounding legend in Latin runs along the outer rim, separated from the portrait by the inner circle.

Reverse description Two adjacent oval shields of arms displayed between two palm branches, the left shield bearing the arms of Ducal Saxony and the right shield the arms of Sayn, surmounted by a large ducal crown. Below the shields, the denomination '2/3' appears within an oval cartouche. The date 1693 appears in the upper margin, with the legend running around the periphery identifying this as a territorial land coinage.
