| Obverse description | Draped and armored bust of John George IV, Elector of Saxony, facing right, wearing a long flowing wig with voluminous curls and decorated armor with lace cravat visible at the collar. The effigy occupies the majority of the coin's field in a bold, high-relief baroque style. A beaded inner border frames the design, with the Latin legend distributed around the full circumference reading IOH. GEORG. IV. DG. DVX. SAX. I. C. M. A. &. W. |

| Reverse description | Crowned and elaborately mantled coat of arms displaying the quartered electoral Saxon arms with the crossed swords escutcheon at center, flanked by elaborate heraldic supporters. The electoral crown surmounts the shield and separates the date, which appears at the top of the field on either side of the crown. The denomination 2/3 appears at the bottom of the field, flanked by the mintmaster's initials. The Latin legend SAC. ROM. IMP. ARCHIM. &. ELECT. runs around the circumference, affirming the elector's rank as Arch-Marshal and Elector of the Holy Roman Empire. |
