Obverse description Armored bust of Elector John George IV of Saxony facing right, wearing a long flowing allonge wig with elaborate curls cascading over the shoulders, the shoulders clad in ornate plate armor with a beaded gorget visible at the neck. The effigy is rendered in high relief in the late Baroque style, occupying the majority of the coin's field. A circular Latin legend surrounds the portrait reading IOH.GEORG.IV.DG.DVX.SAX.I.C.M.A&.W., identifying the ruler by name and title. The coin's rim is decorated with a fine toothed border.
