Reverse description The crowned Anhalt bear, passant guardant, is depicted in high relief at the centre of the field, rendered with characteristically detailed fur and a crown atop its head, standing upon a plain ground line. Beneath the bear, a circular denomination mark displaying the fraction ⅓ is struck into the field, clearly identifying this as a third-thaler. The surrounding Latin legend IN DOMINO FIDUCIA NOSTRA, meaning 'In the Lord is our trust,' is separated by pellet stops and incorporates the date 1670, distributed around the periphery of the coin within an inner beaded border.
