Reverse description A large crowned quartered heraldic shield, surmounted by an elaborate royal crown with fleuron ornaments, occupies the central field within a raised inner circle with a beaded border. The quartered arms display the complex territorial coat of arms of the duchy, including lions, a nettle leaf, and other heraldic charges associated with Schleswig and Holstein. The date 16-90 is divided across the sides of the shield, and the fractional denomination 2/3 appears in an oval cartouche at the base of the shield. The circumferential Latin motto legend CEDVNT PREMENTI FATA runs around the periphery.
