| Reverse description | Enthroned frontal figure of Saint Rupert, patron saint of Salzburg, vested in full pontifical robes with mitre, holding a crozier in his left hand and a book in his right, set within a beaded inner circle on a square klippe flan. Below the saint, a circular denomination cartouche displays the fraction 1/9 within a quatrefoil. The surrounding Latin legend reads SANCT RVDBER TVS EPS SALISB with the date divided across the upper field. The finely hammered relief and square format are characteristic of Salzburg klippe coinage of the mid-17th century. |
