The effigy is set within a wide legend border reading GEORG III D G BRIT REX F D B & L DUX S R I A TH & EL, with a small floral ornament separating the legend. The portrait is executed in the neoclassical style characteristic of late 18th- to early 19th-century German silver coinage.
