Obverse description Bare-headed bust of George III facing right, rendered in a classical Hanoverian style with flowing, curled hair tied at the nape. The effigy is bold and high-relief, occupying the majority of the obverse field. A circular Latin legend surrounds the portrait, interrupted at the base by the mint mark 'C'. The truncation of the bust is plain and unadorned.

Reverse description Centrally placed quartered shield of arms, displaying the heraldic devices of the British and Hanoverian dominions, surmounted by an arched electoral crown. Beneath the shield, within an oval cartouche, appears the fractional denomination '1/3'. The circular Latin legend surrounding the composition references the ducal and electoral titles of Hanover, with the date appearing within the legend at the top of the coin. Mint marks flank the cartouche at the base.
