Reverse description Full-length draped figure of Saint Andrew facing slightly left, holding the saltire cross diagonally across his body with both hands, depicted in a dynamic contrapposto stance. The saint is rendered in high relief against a plain field, with naturalistic drapery falling to his feet. A horizontal baseline divides the lower field, beneath which the mintmaster's initials CPS appear in the exergue. The circular Latin legend surrounding the design records the ducal titles of George II along with the date 1729.
