| Obverse description | Armored bust of King Frederick William I of Prussia facing right, depicted with close-cropped hair and a prominent double chin, wearing articulated plate armor with decorative rivets and a gorget. The effigy is boldly rendered in high relief with a naturalistic, somewhat unidealized portrait style characteristic of early 18th-century German coinage. The encircling Latin legend reads FRID • WILH • D • G • REX • BORVSS • E • B •, denoting his titles as King of Prussia and Elector of Brandenburg, separated by dot stops.
