Obverse description Draped bust of Frederick II (Frederick the Great) facing right, with long flowing hair styled in the fashion of the period and a folded cravat visible at the truncation. The portrait is rendered in a bold, high-relief style typical of mid-18th century Prussian coinage. The circular Latin legend surrounds the effigy along the entire periphery, separated from the portrait by a plain inner field. A finely toothed border encloses the design.
