Obverse description Armored and laureate effigy of Frederick II (Frederick the Great) facing right, depicted as a truncated bust with elaborately detailed cuirass and flowing drapery at the shoulder. The king's wig is rendered with fine curls, and a laurel wreath crowns his head. The peripheral Latin legend reads FRIDERICVS BORVSSORVM REX, partially visible around the rim, with a small star ornament at the base of the bust truncation.
