Obverse description Bare-headed effigy of Frederick II (Frederick the Great) facing right, with elaborately curled and flowing wig rendered in fine detail. The truncation of the neck is plain and unadorned. The circumferential legend FRIDERICVS BORVSSORVM REX runs along the outer border, separated from the effigy by a toothed inner rim. The portrait is executed in a classical Baroque style characteristic of mid-18th-century Prussian coinage.
