Reverse description The quartered arms of the Grand Duchy of Mecklenburg-Schwerin displayed on an ornate shield at the center of the field, featuring the characteristic heraldic charges of the duchy including the bull of Mecklenburg and the griffin of Schwerin among other quarterings. The shield is surmounted by a grand ducal crown and flanked symmetrically by laurel and oak branches tied at the base, forming a wreath. A circular legend in Latin lettering reads 6 EINEN THALER · 84 EINE F. MARK, denoting the denomination's relationship to the Thaler and the fine mark standard, with the date 1848 appearing in the lower exergual area. The design is enclosed within a beaded border.
