| Obverse description | Draped and cuirassed bust of Frederick Augustus III, Elector of Saxony, in right-facing profile, rendered with finely engraved curled hair flowing to the nape and detailed military costume with epaulettes and decorative gorget. The effigy occupies the central field with strong, well-modelled relief characteristic of late 18th-century Saxon coinage. The encircling legend in Latin reads FRID·AVGVST·D·G·DVX·SAX·ELECTOR, separated by pellet stops, running along the inner border of the coin. |
